Post-modern geopolitics

An analysis of President Hu's visit to Washington in the Post today refers to Hu's call for US/Chinese "partnership" on international affairs this way:

A key test of that partnership will be ... whether it can force its patron North Korea to return to six-nation talks on ending its nuclear ambitions.

I guess the North Koreans were right: getting nuclear weapons really did increase their clout in the world....

Bush sets up a force field that affects everyone, even Post writers.

If you want to understand the U.S.-China relationship you simply can't read most of the American press, least of all the Washington Post. The myopia of most Washington reporters is sickening.
