Atrocity of the week: Alphonso Jackson

We love these apalling but petty stories....they're the ones that call the nightquill middle echelons out of their drunken stupors and encourage them to borrow the keyboards back temporarily from the monkey/shakespeare experiment...

HUD secretary Alphonso Jackson recently bragged to a large audience about pulling a federal contract from a winning bidder because he criticized the President. Pretty chilling stuff, if petty; but he now claims he made the story up. Which we suppose is slightly better. Thanks to Lee at The Passionate Center for running the story. Whether it happened or not, the bragging says a lot about the character of Mr. Jackson and this administration.

When did HUD's director grow so
Like a third-rate mafioso?
You'll go swimming where the swans go
If you piss off Don Alphonso.
Say his capo's not a pillar --
He'll become your contract killer.
